Workplace Discount Program: Is this a Joke?

From the product page:
Enjoy the full benefits of Microsoft 365 apps with more features and extras, 1 TB of cloud storage, and advanced protection for your data and devices. Microsoft 365 Family and Personal annual subscriptions are 30% off for Workplace Discount Program eligible customers.^1^ Plus, the discount continues for as long as you maintain recurring billing.

Except i don't get the full benefits of 365... I get a terribly stripped down and limited version of 365 especially when it comes to Teams.

You use these tools at work and expect "Hey this is so good at work I should use this at home"
Only to find out the products in the home offering aren't even close to what you use at work...

Like you can't even make a TEAM in TEAMS... How dumb is that!

Then you can't use tabs in Channels (Which you can't make)

You can't use any Teams Apps like milestones for simple family tracking, Planner for assigning tasks like chores or household duties, Updates to quickly keep family in the loop about things like changing cable providers, Maintenace being done at home, or other quick things. No approvals app so my kids can quickly ask me for approval to buy something or to go somewhere.

you get power automate and lists but without being able to add them to the teams interface what is the point of it??? WHY Keep it in a totally separate app? It's not at all convenient.

You have these AMAZING TOOLS with SO MUCH POTENTIAL and then you hand out a polished turd in the shape of the app when someone gets it for Family or Personal. It makes no sense.

Sure some of this is because of a lack of sharepoint functionality but i'm sure it's not hard to replicate some of that using onedrive for hte personal and family subs. Sharepoint is really just a glorified CMS for Teams... just put the relevant files and stuff in folders then use onedrive sharing to handle permissions.

The "Team creator" is the one who's one drive it lives(for storage limit purposes) in then scrap the teams site. SIMPLE SIMPLE!

    Hello Stinsman,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

I am a Microsoft user just like you, I hope you are doing well?

I understand your frustration but please understand that the Microsoft 365 license assigned to your work account offers a different Teams than what you will get with Microsoft Home subscriptions. Teams basically is designed for organisations, with personal subscription, you get Teams free which comes with limited functionality.

If you want full functionality of Team feature, get a business license: https://www.microsoft.com/microsoft-teams/compare-microsoft-teams-options
