How can I group applications within Family Safety and set limits for them?

Hello

I would like to have at least two groups of applications: Games and others.

I would like to limit the time for my son's games, but I don't want to limit the time for learning, etc. For example, we use the computer as electric guitar amplifiers, and this time should not be limited.

I am also looking for the same: let's say we have a rule on 1 hours per day of videogames. How can I implement that?
if i set 1hour for minecraft, 1 hr fornite, 1hr whatever else.. you can still play 3hr!

What you need is to group all games into one category, set the limit of 1hr for the whole category, and then let the kid decide how to distribute those 60 minutes among the diffeent games.

The current implementation is like if your mum wanted to limit your TV time of 1 hour, but we were setting an dedicated time limit for each program on TV... it just doesnt work like that!

    Hi,

I am also seeking a solution for this problem. It seems counterintuitive to have a blanket restriction on all applications, regardless of their category, or to set individual time limits per application. There is a clear and logical requirement for the ability to group applications. I wouldn't mind if it even took running the application once on a device to register it with Family Safety. Being able to see the application and assign it to a group, either custom-created by me or predetermined by Microsoft, and be able to assign limits to the groups would make limits functional and allow me to give my child the ability to use their computer for educational purposes, while still limiting their game time.

What can be done about this, as I've been hoping this functionality would be available for a while now?

I am also looking for the same feature.

Parents want to restrict time for games across the board. Setting individual times for games does not achieve this goal, since each game can be played for the allotted time and it's unrealistic to constantly change game times and/or allow/disallow games. It would be much more useful to group applications and apply time limits to the group.

Apple has this functionality. It would be good for Windows to have it too.

Adding that I also have this issue and have not yet been able to find a solution. It's as if whoever designed Family Safety doesn't have kids. So, they don't understand the actual needs of parents. Hoping this is resolved soon.

    Hello Md Abdal Khan

Looks like you did not get my point.

For example, my son has 4 games installed. I would like he plays not more than 2 hours total per day and he can use other time to education.

So, I would like to create a category/group with the name Games, put all games into this category, and setup time restrictions for this category.

If the restriction for the category is 2 hours. It means that he can play 1 hour for game 1, 30 min game 2 and 30 min game 3. Or maybe he would like to play 2 hours game 1. It is up to him, but he can play for not more than 2 hour per day and use other enabled time for education programs.

Do you plan to implement such functionality?
