Default for Solid Line in Word

How can I set defaults for the color and width for a solid line in the Fill and line in the Format Picture in Word?

    Sorry, I misunderstood what you were trying to do.

    With picture borders, you probably need a macro, as suggested by John Korchok in your other thread at https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/1306305/how-can-i-set-defaults-solid-line-in-word.

    EDIT: The reply below was based on a misunderstanding of the question. My suggestion does work if you want to define a default format for a line or for some other shape in Word. However, my suggestion does not work for picture borders.

    You can right-click a line and choose the Set as Default Line command from the context menu. This will save the settings for lines in the current document.

    If you want to reuse the format in future documents, save the document as a template and use it.

    Alternatively, you can select your modified line and save it as an AutoText entry.

    I tried this on picture borders, did not work. But I tried it on a line I created, it did work. I needed to set a default for picture border.
