There is dialog launcher for paragraph, one for font styles, none to change the default font. Is there an alternative way to change the default font?

In the Desktop Application, it is located at the bottom, right of the Font section of the Home tab of the ribbon

The dialog box that appears when you click on the Dialog Launcher does contain a Set As Default button

Note however that for each Style, there can be a separate default font.

KathySt J, thank you for your reply and screenshot. I can see from your screenshot that you have the web-based version of Word which has basic features unlike the desktop version. The web version does not have a Fonts dialog like the one in the desktop version. Also, you may find that there is also no Font item in the right-click menu.

Appreciate your response, but I don't have the dialog box in the font section. See attached. It was suggested that Cntl+D would open it - in my case, it creates a bookmark.
