Changing 'Display Name' of OneNote Notebooks on Mac

I have been researching for nearly two hours and can note find pertinent information on how to change the display name of a Notebook on my Mac.

I am in a cross-functional position so I leverage a few different OneNote Notebooks. When I had a windows device, I could change the 'Display Name' to show up different on my local device without changing the name of the Notebook for everybody - similar to how you can make the name of a bookmark on your browser.

On a Windows Device, all you had to do what right click > view properties > click display name and you were done. I can not find the ability to do this on a mac. Additionally, even if I wanted to change the name of the OneNote from the source (OneDrive) it's not letting me see the option to "Rename" like most of the microsoft help articles will tell you to try.

Now I see you are on OneDrive for Business or SharePoint. Not my business 😥

    Hey Bernd,

    Thanks for the quick response.

That option does not work for me and something I tried beforehand.

When I right click on the notebook, or select the 3 little dots, I am only presented with: Open, Open File Location, Share and Copy Link.

For some reason, I really think this should live at the app level and note the OneDrive level, because I'm only wanting to change the Display Name, not the source file name.

    What would you suggest next?

This change-the-display-name-of-the-notebook feature should have never been introduced into OneNote because people always confuse it with real renaming the notebook. You may be the one exception from this rule 😋

Real renaming can be done on https://onedrive.live.com by right clicking the notebook. Close it beforehand.
