When updating a task with the % complete e.g. 25% or 75% it is automatically changing it to 100% and marking the task complete.

Any help appreciated.

Thank you

    KMannUOE --

Did you timescale the planned Effort using the new Assignments view? For example, I have a task with a Duration of 10 days, to which I assigned at resource. Project for the Web calculates 80 hours of Effort for this task, timescaled at 8 hours/day over the 10 days of the task schedule. Then, using the new Assignments view, I changed the 8 hours of work to 0 hours for each of the days in the second week of the task. This means 40 hours are scheduled during the first week and 0 hours are scheduled during the second week. When I mark the task as 50% complete, meaning the work is completed for the first week, Project for the Web automatically changes the % Complete to 100%. It does this because all of the planned Effort has been completed.

Does that describe at all what you might have done with the task in question? Let us know and we will try to help you.

    Dear KMannUOE,

Thanks for posting in Microsoft community. We are glad to help you.

Based on your description, may I know if all of your Project tasks have the same issue or only one single task has this issue on your side?

Based on the official article: Track percent complete for tasks - Microsoft Support, the percent complete feature is currently not available with the Project for web application. Could you edit or change the percent complete with Project desktop application successfully?

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. We wish you good health and safety at all times.

    Sincerely,
