    Dear k Anjali,

Greetings! Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

To use free Microsoft Word, if you have a Microsoft account, you may use the account to log in personal OneDrive Online in browser via this link https://onedrive.live.com  it has free Office Online, you can click + New > then choose Word document to create a document.

If you don’t have a Microsoft account, you can create one, it's free. How to create a new Microsoft account - Microsoft Support

Or if you are willing you may register a one month free trial of Microsoft 365 Subscription, such as Microsoft 365 Business Standard, Microsoft 365 Business Premium or Microsoft 365 Apps for business, they have desktop version of Office applications.

You can click 'Try free for one month' from this page: Compare Microsoft 365 Business Plans and Pricing | Microsoft 365

    Hope above helps!

Have a nice day, stay safe and healthy always.

    Sincerely,

Use your free Microsoft account with https://onedrive.live.com from where you can create and edit Word, Excel, and PowerPoint documents. Functionality will be rather limited with a free account, though.
