OneNote for Windows mobile

Does anyone know of a web site where I can download a version of OneNote that will run on Windows Mobile (OneNote 2016?)? Alternatively, is there a way to allow the version of OneNote which is already installed on my device to work?

I have a Microsoft Lumia 950XL running Windows 10 RM-1116. OneNote is installed on the phone, but when I try to open it, it tells me that in order to use the app I need to upgrade it. When I opt to do that (click on the "Get It Now" button) it automatically takes me to the Microsoft Store and says I need to upgrade OneNote, but a version for Windows Mobile is not available at the Store, Only a PC version. The Store also says "This product is installed". I had an old 950XL which I recently lost and it had a version of OneNote on it that worked perfectly.

Thank you!

Hello BobAmendolara,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

Based on your description, you are trying to use OneNote on Windows Phone. Let’s us check on this together and sort this out in timely manner.

We would like to let you know that Windows 10 Mobile has ended their life support since last December 10, 2019. Source: Windows 10 Mobile End of Support: FAQ - Microsoft Support

Installation and use of OneNote 2016 can be possible if you have Office 2016 associated to your Microsoft account. To install Office into Windows OS, it will require updated OS version that may be a challenge for Windows 10 Mobile as the updates for this device has already ceased.

Alternatively, if the Windows Phone has a built in OneNote Windows 10 you may use that or you may access OneNote on web using this link: Microsoft OneNote | The digital note-taking app for your devices.

You may try the alternatives instead as Office 2016 is very specific with the PC requirements. For new concerns, feel free to create new thread using this link: Create a new question or start a discussion.

Sincerely,

Kathy A.
