This is happening on all of my Android devices and uninstalling and reinstalling makes no difference. the problem is still there.

Does anyone have any suggestions to fix this issue?

    Expand/collapse & drag feature:

The feature was available in version 16.0.15427.20188 running on my old Android 8 mobile.

The feature is unavailable in version 16.0.16327.20316 (dated 2 June 2023) running on my new Android 13 mobile.

I found it's possible to install the older version on my new phone (while waiting for MS to fix this!)

    • In Play Store (on mobile), turn off auto-update of OneNote!
    • Uninstall current version of OneNote
    • Download (to Google Drive) version 15427.20188 from APKMirror here (arm64-v8a version worked for my Samsung S23)
    • In Settings / Security and Privacy / Install unknown apps:

Enable (Google) Drive (turn off after installation)

    • Double-tap the downloaded file to install
    • Open OneNote; pages then populate and feature is there to be used.  (Phew!)

Check About this App (Click Arrow) in Play Store for version number of latest currently published.

    Thanks for the update.

I think the only way to check this is as described in my last line:

"Check About this App (Click Arrow) in Play Store for version number of latest currently published."

I've set a recurring calendar item to check this every couple of months (as this has been an issue for some time, apparently).

    Hi Philip

Thanks very much, it worked for my Samsung tablet and my pixel 6 phone :)

One question is how can I make sure I am notified by Microsoft when this bug is fixed and I can then download the latest version from the store as usual?

    Hi,

I'm Taiwo and I'd be happy to help you with your question. In this Forum, We are Microsoft consumers just like yourself.

Since you are experiencing an issue with the latest update of OneNote for Android where you are unable to select and move an individual line or collapse it, here are a few suggestions to help resolve the problem:

    1. Go to the Settings on your Android device, navigate to the Apps or Application Manager section, find OneNote, and select it. From there, you can clear the app cache and data. This process may vary slightly depending on the Android version and device you are using.
    2. Make sure that you have the latest version of OneNote installed on your Android devices. Go to the Google Play Store, search for OneNote, and see if an update is available. Updating the app can sometimes resolve issues and provide bug fixes.
    3. Sometimes, simply restarting your Android device can help resolve temporary glitches or conflicts that may be causing the issue.
    4. In OneNote, go to the app settings and look for an option to reset or restore default settings. This will revert any customized settings back to their default state, which may help resolve the problem.

I hope this helps ;-), let me know if this is contrary to what you need, I would still be helpful to answer more of your questions.

    Best Regards, Thank You.
