A family of Microsoft spreadsheet software with tools for analyzing, charting, and communicating data
In reference to my question it was my 1990 excel skills that lacked my ability to to traverse office 365 and following formula auditing. I personally think Excel is used for productivity not gui entertainment so what I could do in one keystroke now takes three or four irritates me but I learned how to get around it wasting more time.
As for external references in the formula auditing they never worked since office 97 all the way to office 2000 and 20s external references require a link to the spreadsheet you are trying to reference and some kind of offset with some visual basic programming skills you could manage that but then it would be unlikely that your spreadsheets would be dynamic you would have to continuously modify a variable offset in the process to make up for any kind of additions to your source spreadsheet and that is a little bit beyond my skill set.
But if anything the people who developed Office 365 can be asked since they put so many toots and whistles into their excel spreadsheets that a misstep by your finger on a touch screen can render your Excel spreadsheet a catastrophe every function shift control windows character can mess up your screen very badly.
Good luck I think you're binding off a great challenge hopping spreadsheets for external references could cripple your entire project I know I tried playing that game and it requires high level of Organization and God forbid you add a column or a row I see no feasible way of easily offsetting the reference pointer to that spreadsheet being referenced.
