Hi, i have my personal domain hosted by MSFT vis hotmail and was setup at least 15 years ago. Email was working fine until 6 months ago when most emails to gmail receipients bounce back. I have read on-line about setting up a DNS record? though I have no idea how to access my domain settings or contact someone at MSFT who can help me do this and address the issue. If I can't send to people with gmail addresses, I will have to move my domain to some other host and lose all my folders of history. Help? How can I get this to work with gmail recipients? and get this working or reach Microsoft? thanks

    Hi David A!

I am Shakiru, an independent advisor and a user like you, and I am glad to be helping you out today.

I’m sorry to hear that you’re having trouble sending emails from your Microsoft-hosted domain to Gmail recipients.

Have you checked if your domain is on any spam lists by using a tool like MX Toolbox?

    Please try this:

    1. Run Test: Troubleshoot Email Delivery via https://aka.ms/PillarEmailDelivery

See here to learn more: https://learn.microsoft.com/exchange/troubleshoot/email-delivery/email-delivery-issues

Also, Fix bounced or rejected emails to your Gmail account: check this link to see what you need to do to fix that: https://support.google.com/mail/answer/6596?hl=en&ref_topic=7280460&sjid=6621293655162864970-EU#zippy=%2Cthe-email-account-that-you-tried-to-reach-does-not-exist

    1. Try to Add necessary To do this: * Sign in to the Microsoft 365 admin center and select Show all > Settings > Domains. * In a new browser tab or window, sign in to your DNS hosting provider, and then find where you manage your DNS settings (e.g., Zone File Settings, Manage Domains, Domain Manager, DNS Manager).

    * Add the TXT record indicated in the admin center to your domain. Adding this record won’t affect your existing email or other services and you can safely remove it once your domain is connected to Microsoft 365.

See here for more details: https://learn.microsoft.com/microsoft-365/admin/get-help-with-domains/create-dns-records-at-any-dns-hosting-provider?view=o365-worldwide#step-2-add-dns-records-to-connect-microsoft-services

If you are still having difficulty, I will recommend contacting the Microsoft support team again via https://support.microsoft.com/contactus, as they have access to your account and will be in the best position to help you.

    I hope this help!

Thank you for your patience and precious time.

    Kind Regards, Shakiru
