F2 key is not working correctly in Excel. When F2 is pressed a volume control comes up. What do I do?

I have already tried the suggestion of pressing function and escape at the same time, but that doesn't seem to work for my machine.

    Hi,

Most likely the Fn key is locked in the on position. Hold down the Fn key and press the Esc key. Now try the F2.

Hi there Matt C! I'm Lumie, an independent advisor and Microsoft user like you! Thank you very much for stating your computer model, this has really narrowed it down. When dealing with hotkeys, sometimes they are built to service the computer directly and do not function how they should in applications. Lenovo Yoga's should have an FN key built into the keyboard. Try using this with F2! This is the same as all your other F{num} keys! [https://answers.microsoft.com/thread/3d5d3337-39b3-4e8d-9f7b-3899bd9adb3c] Has this helped? =)

Thank you for replying! As Shane is implying, you should be able to press the FN Key and the FN Lock key (the padlock symbol) in order to stop the need to click it. If this isn't working, you can always remap the key to an easier shortcut? Here is the link for the steps. =) [https://support.microsoft.com/office/customize-keyboard-shortcuts-9a92343e-a781-4d5a-92f1-0f32e3ba5b4d ]

    Hi Lumie,

Thank you for replying - I really appreciate it. I had noticed that I can use FN + F2 and that does work, however, I am in finance and I live in excel. If at all possible, I would love to have the capability to just hit F2 like I have always had with every other computer in the past.

    Best,
    Matt
