OneDrive Personal vs OneDrive Business. Two seperate apps? How to uninstall Personal?

Microsoft made this very confusing...

  1. Is OneDrive Personal and Business the same application, it just shows with different icons in tray?
  2. Is it possible to completely remove OneDrive Personal while keeping OneDrive Business?
  3. If not, how can I prevent the Personal icon (grey cloud) from showing up in the tray?

Bonus question: 4) If you add multiple accounts to OneDrive Business, they will have similar looking folder names ("OneDrive - Business name" and "OneDrive - Business name (1)". Is this possible to prevent? The folder name is very long, and indistinguishable when viewed in File Explorer.

    Good day!! Thanks for posting your concern in this Microsoft Community.

    I understand the confusion caused due to the OneDrive personal and OneDrive for Business, here are the answers to your concern:

    Concern 1: There is no application such as OneDrive personal or OneDrive for Business, where it’s just OneDrive sync client and we add our OneDrive personal or OneDrive for Business to the OneDrive sync client.

    Concern 2: Yes, we can unlink the OneDrive personal account on the OneDrive sync client via following the below steps:

    Click on the white cloud icon in the taskbar> Help & Settings> Settings> Account> Unlink this Mac for the personal account.

    Concern 3: By removing it, the white cloud icon will not show in the taskbar of Windows.

    Concern 4: When we setup multiple business accounts, there will be default folder with OneDrive – Company name.

    If you are having the same company name of the different tenants, then it will be Contoso, Contoso (1) etc

    Sorry to say that it’s not possible to prevent it because those are by default.
