How can I print my original Word document without it going to a pdf?

My document is many pages long; each page contains an image and 3 lines of text. Each page is meant to be given to one recipient, so moving the image to the next page is not acceptable.

Hey Carolyn, thank you for reaching out today.

If you want to print your Word document directly to a physical printer without converting it to a PDF first, you can follow these steps:

  1. **Open the Word Document:** Open your Word document that you want to print.
  2. **Preview Your Document:** Before printing, it's a good idea to preview your document to make sure everything looks correct. To do this, go to the "File" menu, then click on "Print Preview." You can use the arrow keys to navigate through the pages and check the layout.
  3. **Check Page Layout:** In Print Preview, make sure that each page contains the image and three lines of text as you want them to appear in the printout.
  4. **Adjust Page Breaks (if necessary):** If you find that the automatic page breaks are not placed where you want them to be, you can adjust them manually. To do this, go back to the normal view (close Print Preview) and place the cursor at the end of the page where you want to force a new page. Then, go to the "Insert" tab, click on "Page Break," and this will push the content after the page break to the next page.
  5. **Print the Document:** Once you are satisfied with the layout and page breaks, go to the "File" menu and click on "Print" or use the shortcut Ctrl + P (on Windows) or Cmd + P (on Mac) to open the Print dialog.
  6. **Select the Printer:** In the Print dialog, make sure you select the physical printer that you want to use for printing. If you have multiple printers installed, choose the correct one from the list.
  7. **Print Options:** Configure any additional print settings as needed, such as the number of copies, orientation, paper size, etc.
  8. **Print:** Finally, click on the "Print" button to start printing your document.

The document will be printed directly to your physical printer without converting it to a PDF.

Make sure to check the printouts carefully to ensure that each page contains the image and three lines of text as intended.

If the content is not aligned correctly, you may need to adjust the page layout or settings to achieve the desired result.

My documents used to print exactly as they showed on my screen. When I sent it to print the print preview showed exactly how it would print. Now when it converts to pdf the print preview does not look like my original (for example, there is an extra page at the end). Even if it looks right it doesn't print right; for example, I have headings in bold but they do not print bold. In fact, some words are partially bold for no apparent reason. This is all new and the article did not address my question. I can print, that it not the problem. The problem is once my word document is converted to pdf, my document changes and there is no way to edit the pdf.

Is this Word on the web? The browser version has always converted to PDF prior to creating the printout; what has changed recently is that Word notifies you that you are about to get a "PDF printout."

"File" used to give you those options but now it does not. How do I prevent conversion to pdf? I guess I probably don't understand the whole word thing since word isn't what it used to be. This is very frustrating.
