Word file will not open when I click on it on my Android device

Word file will not open when I click on it on my mobile android device (galaxy s20).

When I download a .docx document and click on open, my device ask me to buy microsoft 365. When I instead open word first, search for the downloaded file and open it, it works without any problem. This workaround however is however not satisfactory and causes too may clicks. What do I need to do?

    Thanks Utkarsh!

    It was the file association which was wrong, now it works.

    However if I search the web for how to change the association it is mostly the same explanation which you give, and it is not working like that for me. There is no way to change the association in the application manager in my galaxy s20.

    I needed to locate an actual word file, click on it, and then the mobile phone asks me which application to use. And here I can change the default application for this file type.
