Microsoft Office Home & Student 2021 purchase is not being activated

Earlier this year I purchased a Lenovo device and included Microsoft Office Home & Student 2021 with my purchase.

When I attempt to use any of the included programs (e.g. Powerpoint, Word, I receive a window with the following message):

"You've got Office - Your device includes Office Home & Student 2021".

When I select "Continue", I receive the following message:

"We're having trouble activating Office"

with no additional information. I have attempted to activate my already purchased software across multiple system restarts, on multiple Internet connections, with no change in the above. Please advise.

I PURCHSED OFFICE HOME AND STUDENT 2021 ON OCT 3, 2022 FOR 149.99. MICROSOFT IS BLOCKING ME FROM USING THE APP. IT SAYS MY 365 SUBSCRIPTION HAS EXPIRED. I PAID FOR HOME AND STUDENT AND SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR 365. HOW CAN I CONTACT MICROSOFT?

I am having the same problem.

I purchased MS Office 2021 yesterday (for 162.55) and downloaded it. The purchase shows up in my Microsoft account but I am unable to activate it. Here are other details:

    1. I downloaded the software on a new macbook air
    2. I used a previous purchased 2016 version on an old macbook air
    3. My microsoft account verifies both purchases.
    4. I followed all download steps and received indication that all was dowloaded successfully
    5. However, when I try to use (word) it indicates that "subscription required to edit and save. Start your free trial .... " with an activate link.
    6. If I hit the activate link I only get options for 1) a subscription trial, 2) sign in to existing subscription or 3) restore previous purchase (if I click it shows no previous subscription which is correct).
    7. Another time when I tried to activate it indicated that I must download a 2019 version of Office. However when I tried that it again did nothing.

Attempts to call microsoft failed because they send you to articles online for office -- both for personal or business use.

This is very poor customer service. I am sure a MS Office tech could fix this in a few minutes but I have spend two days now trying to resolve to no avail.

    Hi Prakash,

Thank you for responding. I received an invoice confirming that I paid $124.99 for "Microsoft Office Home and Student 2021 (Digitally Attached)". This indicates that it is not a trial version. The invoice has a part number, but does not have a product key. Any further assistance would be much appreciated..
