Well, I figured out my issue, but it may not help you. In WORD I clicked on my name in the upper right corner (to the left of the megaphone for "Up Coming Features."). I found there two accounts, one for my business and one for personal. The business account was "active" which I signed out of making my personal account "active". My assumption is that any changes to my business account had to be made by the account's manager, which I am not. I am the manager of my personal account. Hopes this helps.

I've also tried this solution without success. Yes, multiple times and yes I restarted. Microsoft 365 is really a PAIN!! In 2023 we sould not have so many end users issues with software and logins. I really want to go back to installing apps on a machine and not have all this user cloud sync.

This issue (feature) seems to date back a couple years. If anyone finds a solution, let me know.

    Hi Femi,

Thank you for your assistance. I had already followed the process your recommended and did so again today several times and unchecked the box for "Turn ON optional connected experiences". Each time following reboot the "Your Privacy Matters" pop up happens again and when I go in the "Turn ON optional connected experiences" box is "checked". Any other thoughts?
