Unknown Folders Created in my OneDrive

Anonymous

In my personal OneDrive almost everyday some folder is created. Usually in foreign language. The folder is always empty.

I always delete the folder because it was not created by me. Nobody else has access to my account. I also log out of all devices and change the password. The folder is still being created everyday.

Is there any explanation for this? Any action I should take?

    HiMihaelS

    Greetings!

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

Upon reading the description you have posted, it seems that you have an issue with Microsoft 365 wherein everyday you have noticed that new folders that are in a different language is created on your OneDrive cloud storage. Even after logging out from all of your devices and changing your password.

Let’s work together in finding the best solution to this issue.

For me to better understand the issue, I’d like to ask a few questions:

    • When did this issue occurred?

    • Are you using the OneDrive desktop app or is it the web version?

    • If possible, kindly please provide a screenshot of the folder that keeps getting added to your OneDrive storage.

In the meantime, we would like you to provide us with some answers first to the questions above. In order for us to provide you with a more accurate solution.

Note: It's possible that these unknown folders are being created by a third-party app or service that has access to your OneDrive account. To investigate this issue further, I recommend checking the list of connected apps and services in your OneDrive settings.

    1. Go to the OneDrive website and sign in to your account.
    2. Click on the gear icon in the upper-right corner and select "Options".
    3. Click on the "Security" tab and scroll down to the "Connected apps and services" section.
    4. Review the list of apps and services that have access to your OneDrive account. If you see any unfamiliar apps or services, revoke their access by clicking on the "Remove" button next to them.

Additionally, I recommend running a full virus scan on your computer to ensure that there are no malicious programs causing this issue. I

Let me know if this helps,

    Sincerely

    Khou Sun

Thank you, Sun. Happened again today. As you can see it is in a different language. It was previously in other languages as well.

    • When did this issue occurred? Occurring almost daily

    • Are you using the OneDrive desktop app or is it the web version? Using every version (Mobile, Desktop, and web)

    • If possible, kindly please provide a screenshot of the folder that keeps getting added to your OneDrive storage. Find attached image
