In word, I have a table of food with calories, fat, protein, and carbs of each food item. I somehow want to make a spreadsheet that when I enter a food item I eat it subtracts the info from my daily calories and macros and possibly workout the calories burnt from the info. For example, if my maintenance is 2500 calories and my goal is to hit 200g of protein, 100g of fat, and 150 g of protein I want to enter it kind of like this - I enter one party pie and it finds from the list it has 84 calories, 8.6g of carbs, 4 g fat and 3.4g protein. So let's say that's all I had for the day, I'd want it to say during the day that I had x amount of protein, x amount of fat, carbs, and calories, and tell me how many calories I burnt today on food, eg 2500 - 84 = 2416 so I had this many calories today with this much macros and burnt 2416 calories. I could also link this to microsoft access i believe but feel like I need to have excel as the starter.

So, where should I start? I've already got the table in Word that looks like so.

Summarized, I only want to enter the food and have Excel work out that out of 200g of protein, I had x amount today, with the rest of the macros and the amount of calories I have eaten and burnt that day. Let me know if you have questions. Thank you.

    Hello Aiden,

I'm Shalom and I'd happily help you with your question. In this forum, we are Microsoft consumers just like yourself.

You can create a meal tracking spreadsheet in Microsoft Excel to track your daily food intake and calculate your remaining calories and macros. Here’s how you can get started:

Open a new Excel workbook and create a table with columns for food, calories, carbs, fat, and protein. You can copy the data from your Word table and paste it into the Excel table.

Create another table to track your daily food intake. This table should have columns for the date, food, serving size, calories, carbs, fat, and protein.

Use formulas to calculate the total calories and macros for each food item based on the serving size. For example, if you ate 2 servings of Belvita milk and cereal biscuits, the formula for calculating the total calories would be =2*213, where 213 is the number of calories in one serving.

Use formulas to calculate your remaining calories and macros for the day. For example, if your maintenance is 2500 calories and you’ve eaten 1000 calories so far, the formula for calculating your remaining calories would be =2500-1000.

Use data validation to create a drop-down list of food items in the daily food intake table. This will make it easier to enter your food intake data.

Use conditional formatting to highlight cells that are below or above your daily goals.

I hope this helps you get started with creating a meal tracking spreadsheet in Excel. Let me know if you have any questions.

    Best Regards, Shalom
