Add hyperlink to Visio to a Word bookmark

We have a word document that contains step by step instructions for different processes. We have imbedded Visio documents for each of the processes. Our goal is to have the visio be clickable that way the user is directed to the specific bookmarked step. I have tried adding the document location in Visio with the sub address set to the Word bookmark title however when selected in Visio the shape opens up a web browser and takes you to the first page of the document. Is there a way to associate it to the specific bookmark in Word?

    Hi Jazlyn,

    Do you know if its possible for the link to work when the document is saved to OneDrive or SharePoint? I was able to get the linking to work in Visio for a local Word file but when its saved to the cloud the link only takes you to the first page of the document.

    Dear Stephanie,

    Good day! Thank you for posting your query in our community.

    Based on your description, you want to add hyperlink to Visio to a Word bookmark.

    You can try the following method to check the result:

    In the Word doc, add Bookmarks (on the Insert tab) in the places in your doc where the Visio links should connect to. 

    Then, in Visio, edit the Hyperlinks by selecting the Word document in the "Address" field and adding the Bookmark name in the "Sub-address" field.  This should cause Visio to open the doc directly to a specific location.

    Thank you for the reply.

    I tested it on my side, however, the hyperlink in Visio doesn't go to the correct bookmark place when the Word file saved to the cloud location.
