How to Stop Calendar PopUp in Cell

I use Excel online in OneDrive. I have a column formatted to create a date when I type, for example, 22325, it automatically formats to 2/23/25. But just recently a calendar popup is appearing whenever I click on this cell and I don't want to have a calendar popup showing up. I can't figure out how to disable or stop the automatic calendar popup on my Excel charts that I use in OneDrive. Please help! Thanks very much!

    I HAVE THE ANSWER!

    • Go to Microsoft system settings
    • Scroll down to clipboard settings
    • Turn off "suggested actions" (little lightning bolt)

This request wasn't for applying a Date format to a cell; the issue is occurring on cells that already have a Date format applied. When you start typing in a Date-formatted cell, a calendar pops up that many users do not want displayed. We're asking whether there's a way to turn off this new feature?

Your instructions are for merely selecting the short date format, which does not disable the calendar popup. Your answer failed to address the issue.

    How to find Suggested Actions:

    1. When the "Create event" pop-up pops up, click on the ellipsis (three dots to the right) of the words.
    2. Select "Go to Clipboard settings"
    3. Select OFF for Suggested actions. (4th choice down).
    4. Just X out and it shouldn't pop-up anymore.
