I want to sort by last name. But I want the rest of the info (first name, address, phone #) to carry along with the proper last name. Now they get all mixed up. Last name gets a different first name, not the correct name. Thank you.

1.
Let’s say your starting point is the same as the first (uppermost) image below.
2.
Let’s also say that you want to sort by Last Name.
Do the following:-
3.
Highlight the range:-
A 1 to D 11
- then:-
Data tab
Sort & Filter group
Click on:-
Sort
- to open the window called:-
Sort
4.
Change the window called:-
Sort
- to read:-
Sort by Last Name
Sort on Cell Values
Order Z to A
My data has headers - make sure that this field has a tick (check mark ) in it
- then click:-
OK
5.
Now see the lower image below for the results.
Notice that the results aren’t mixed up.
Does that help?
I got it.
Highlight the whole line and all lines.
Data
Sort (the box one)
In there, it's column B, cell, A-Z
We'll need to see you data. Take a screenshot of the list and post it here.
