Microsoft Office Home & Student 2016 on MacBook Pro M1?

Hello guys, I just migrated from Windows to Mac, I have (or had?) a Microsoft Office Home & Student 2016 license for Windows, but I would like to know if it is possible to install and activate Microsoft Office 2016 on the new Mac. I read several articles but I couldn't reach a conclusion whether it is possible or not.

I understand that Microsoft recommends Microsoft 365, but I don't want/need, after all, what I currently use from Office, the 2016 version suits me perfectly, even if I no longer receive security updates.

Important: the processor is M1, not Intel, and I'm using macOS Ventura 13.5.2.

When I accessed one of the millions of different links to try to download Office by entering the serial number I have, the only file I get is ".exe", which obviously doesn't work on the Mac.

Thank you in advance.

Kind regards,

Paulo de Tarso

Hello Paulo D,

Welcome to Microsoft Community.

I am a Microsoft user just like you, I hope you are doing well?

Sorry for the inconvenience. However, your Microsoft Office Home & Student 2016 license for Windows is not compatible with Mac OS which means you need to purchase an Office license for your Mac device as this license cannot be installed on Mac (PC only).

Please let me know if you need more assistance.
