MS project. resource sheet, add resources to an existing resource sheet

As per your description, it seems that you are having issue adding more new resource name to an existing resource sheet in Project, not saved and showing up as expected.

If the understanding above is right, to help you better, we'd like to confirm if you are having issue with Project Online Desktop client or Project Online in browser, will they encounter a similar situation?

Does this happen to a specific project or all projects? If other users encounter a similar issue on their side in your organization?

Meanwhile, we will also try to do test on our side to check if we can reproduce a similar situation, we will update the thread shortly once we finished testing.

When you say "shared file folder" what does that mean exactly? Are the pool file and all sharer files in the same folder?

In addition to the pool file and sharer files do you also have a dynamic master (i.e. sharer files inserted as subprojects)?

Are all the resources in the pool file, or do the sharer files also have their own resource?

What is the setting for sharing (i.e. pool take precedence, sharer take precedence, or some combination thereof)?

What exactly do you mean by "amend something"?

From the screen shot you show, it appears your are attempting to add resources via the dynamic master and not directly to the resource pool file (evidenced by the large resource Unique ID value). If so, that's your mistake.

Hi Rhodaj and John,

We use desktop on premise (no project online, no PWA)

We do not have sharepoint, we use a shared file folder

We use version 2019

To open the resource file ( open resource pool, the file is the resource pool of many projects, What do you do? we use option 2 or 3)

What is going wrong? When we add it seems to be ok and saving and when we open again the resource sheet what we added are all the same names with the same unique ID, well we entered different names, initials and groups. We do not have a clue

In addition to Rhoda's questions, (e.g. what version of Project are you using), is this a resource pool file with linked sharer files? If so, where exactly are you adding the resources (i.e. pool file Resource Sheet or sharer file Resource Sheet)?
