PowerPoint designer not presenting consistent design ideas for section pages

I am developing a slide show that has a number of sub-sections where each sub-section is of a different theme and have a different image on the section title page. I want the same design look to apply to the title page, even though the image is different. I've been able to select a consistent theme for 7 of my 8 pages, but can't generate it for the final one! Duplicating the page doesn't work because as soon as I update the image, different design options are presented to me. Any ideas?

I truly think it would be useful to teach the designer AI to learn locally from a user's previous choices. It's so frustrating when it makes non-unified suggestions. Of course, it's usually possible to duplicate slides, but this doesn't work in every case.

The PowerPoint Feedback site has a similar suggestion: Replicating a Design in PowerPoint You might want to add your vote. Microsoft uses this feedback to prioritize their programming.

The Designer function is not a substitute for creating a genuine template or theme to use as a basis for future presentations. It's run by AI and is not configurable or predictable.

Once you create one sample page with Designer, then you should manually replicate that design and create the variations you want to see on your slide layouts.

    Hello Caroline Deans

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

I understand that you are experiencing issues with PowerPoint Designer not presenting consistent design ideas for section pages. Let’s work together in finding the best resolution to this issue.

For me to better understand the issue, I’d like to ask a few questions:

    • Are you using Microsoft 365 Personal/Family or Business?
    • What is the version of your PowerPoint app?

Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:

    • Firstly, ensure that you have the latest version of PowerPoint installed on your computer. You can check for updates by going to File > Account > Update Options.
    • Try selecting a different theme for the final page and see if that helps. You can do this by going to the Design tab and selecting a different theme from the drop-down menu.
    • If the above steps do not work, you can try creating a custom theme for your presentation. This will allow you to apply the same design look to all your section title pages, even if the images are different. To create a custom theme, go to the Design tab and click on the "More" button in the Themes group. From there, select "Create New Theme Colors" and "Create New Theme Fonts" to customize your theme.
    • Another option is to manually format the final section title page to match the design of the other pages. You can do this by selecting the elements on the page (such as the title, subtitle, and image) and formatting them using the options in the Home and Design tabs.

We look forward to your next response.

    Regards,
