Hi Kitty Vigo,
Welcome to the Microsoft community.
The following information is from the article below:

A brown box over your Windows Desktop icons can be caused by an issue with Windows Explorer. <br> <br>To resolve the issue, restart Windows Explorer:<br><ol style="" type="1"><li style="margin-left: 0"><p style="" data-prewrap="true">Press <b>Windows key</b> + <b>E</b>.</p></li><li style="margin-left: 0"><p style="" data-prewrap="true">Press <b>CTRL</b> + <b>ALT</b> + <b>DEL</b> and select <b>Task Manager</b>.</p></li><li style="margin-left: 0"><p style="" data-prewrap="true">Select <b>More details</b> to show all the apps.</p></li><li style="margin-left: 0"><p style="" data-prewrap="true">On the <b>Processes</b> tab, under Apps, right-click on <b>Windows Explorer</b>.</p></li><li style="margin-left: 0"><p style="" data-prewrap="true">Select <b>Restart</b>.</p></li></ol> |

However, I often resolve this problem by simply right-clicking the desktop and selecting "Refresh". Also, I make sure OneDrive is running and is up-to-date.
I hope that helps. Let me know if you need further assistance.
Best regards,
Craig
