If you have purchased the product from the Microsoft store, the program will be available for download. (See image 1)
a. Go to https://account.microsoft.com/services b. Sign in with your Microsoft account. c. Download and install the Office applications from your account.

Do you men that you purchased a version of Office from MS or do you mean you have new Mac that was supplied with a 'free' Office H & Sttudent?
Have you uninstalled any pre-installed O365 Family trial version?
