How do I get out of compatibility mode for word?

I cannot use any of microsoft suite or save any work it allows me to do on Excel

    Hi Shelby S!

    To exit Compatibility Mode in Microsoft Word, you can follow these steps:

    • Select File > Info.
    • In the Inspect Document section, select Check for Issues > Check Compatibility.
    • Select Select versions to show. A check mark appears next to the name of the mode that the document is in.

    If there’s no Convert button, save the document in a newer format:

    • Open the document in Word.
    • Click File > Save As.
    • In the Save As dialog box, select the .docx format
    • Click Save to exit the mode.
