How do I completely uninstall OneDrive?

When I tried following tips from YouTube, I think my OneDrive glitched because it still shows the folder. When I click on it, it says this folder does not exist. I also searched up "OneDrive" in Local Disk to delete any remnants, so I don't think that is the issue.

    Hello ,

    Greetings for the day!

I’m an Independent Advisor and Microsoft user like you and I'm glad to provide you information regarding your scenario.

    1. Go to Control Panel>User Accounts>credential manager>Windows Credentials, check if there’s any “OneDrive” credentials, if so, remove the credentials.
    2. Right click the OneDrive icon > Settings > Account > Unlink this PC > Unlink this account
    3. Now close all related folders and OneDrive app
    4. Go to control panel -> Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features. Select OneDrive and click uninstall
    5. Restart your device

PLEASE PLEASE remove this **** from windows!

It was bad enough to deal with it with a clean install of W10 but now with W11 its even worse. Just remove that ****, add it to office as an option.

I've wrestled with this rubbish more than enough. Its ****. I've had issue with it deleting my files and annoying the **** out of me about being full. I DON'T EVEN USE IT! It's like a virus.

I'm so frustrated with this rubbish. I have uninstalled it and after struggling to find my missing files found that now all yoru my docs etc are in a onedrive folder??? Seriously? I removed it from my system! So I moved everything over and even had to make new folders then unpin the original documents etc and pin my new folders. I deleted the onedrive folders and went on a search for any hidden remnants. I even found registry entries! Why does this have to be sooo hard?

Finally now its completely gone. But every single time I open explorer WHAM! in my face, "location is unavailable" it wants onedrive folders back!

OMG How do you get rid of onedrive?

I also having the same problem, signed out, unlinked from OneDrive and docs are still being uploaded to OneDrive. Anyone try to Uninstall OneDrive? The instructions above are very different from those on MS site and they still aren't working.

One thing for certain OneDrive is a One Drive pain in the keister, can and butt.

I’m also completely frustrated. As over the last couple weeks the notification storage is full, can’t send or receive emails. I’ve deleted & cleaned out as much as I can & got a few % back which is now full again. This must be Microsoft trying to get more money off us!! I have a Samsung phone, IPad & desktop computer & have followed various instructions but also some instructions I don’t see where they say go here & open this might not even show on my end. I wonder who we can call to get talked through how to fix it once & for all. Getting very angry with it all. Anyone had any luck? And still have access to photos etc.?

Yes! And its called Kubuntu / Ubuntu / Mint / and those are just a few of many versions of Linux. These versions look and feel just like Windows, except they are more secure, they perform faster. Its less intrusive and absolutely free, and the best part is that they will run most, if not all of your windows based software via emulation. Better performance because Linux doesn't spy on you, or install software on your computer to force you into monthly subscriptions. Microsoft messed up big time with this latest "update" because people now have good choices in their operating systems, and its their own choice if they stay with the same old problems.

    Hello

I am Abdal and I would be glad to help you with your question.

To completely uninstall OneDrive from your Windows computer, you can follow these steps:

Press the Windows key + R to open the Run dialog box. Type in "appwiz.cpl" and press Enter to open the Programs and Features window. Look for "Microsoft OneDrive" in the list of installed programs. Right-click on it and select "Uninstall". Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the uninstallation process.

After completing these steps, you can also check to make sure that the OneDrive folder is no longer present on your computer. If you still see the OneDrive folder even after completing the above steps, you can try manually deleting it by following these steps:

Open File Explorer and navigate to the OneDrive folder (typically located in your user folder). Right-click on the OneDrive folder and select "Delete". If you encounter an error message saying that the folder cannot be deleted because it is open in another program, you can try restarting your computer and then attempting to delete the folder again.

    I hope this information helps.

    Regards,

    Abdal
