Hello, I recently purchased a HP desktop computer that came with Windows 11. On my old computer I ran Nortons VPN to shield my activities while on the Internet. I am unable to use Nortons VPN if I continue to run Windows 11 in S mode. I bought McAfee's personal security program through the Microsoft store only to find it is not compatible with Windows 11 while in S mode. I am confused as I thought any program purchased through the Microsoft store would be compatible with Windows 11 in S mode. If this is not the case is there a personal security/VPN program recommended that is compatible with Windows 11 in S mode.

I just purchased and set up an HP Envy x360 laptop with Windows 11 in S mode. I see a McAfee icon on the taskbar, and McAfee LiveSafe appears to be up and running. A secure VPN is available through this preinstalled app. This feature is nice since I wanted a VPN service.
Anyway, I have set the current VPN location to the fastest location. I assume the web browsing experience (webpage loading, downloading/uploading files, etc.) is most rapid when the VPN is configured for the fastest virtual location (country). If this assumption is valid, what are the advantages of using other locations (countries)?

Hello Ajibola, thank you for responding so quickly. I find it interesting you mentioned Norton Security, I was running Norton 360 on my Surface Pro 4 before buying a new computer with Windows 11. I tried to download Norton 360 but found it is not compatible with Windows 11 in S mode. I will check out the differences between Norton 360 and Norton Security. I am not familiar with Avast ScoreLine VPN.
I did purchase McAfee through the Microsoft store after my issues with Norton 360 but found it is not compatible with Windows 11 in S mode. I want to be sure my next purchase will work.
