Manage user permissions in Project for the Web

Is it possible to define different permission levels in Project for the web ?
Ideally I would like to create 3 different permisson levels as follow :

  • Admin : Full acces (read, write, edit, delete, user access, ...)
  • Members : Can view and edit tasks only (tasks they are assigned to only?)
They should ideally not be able to edit the dates on a task. Those people should not be able to modify the structure of the project.
  • Guests : Can only view tasks

Is it something feasible with Project for the web ? If yes how can this be done ?
If this is not a default functionality in Project for the web, can this be achieved via the use other tools, app, plugins, ... on top of Project for the web ?

Thank you in advance,

    Dear Michael Arnhem,

Greetings! Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

As far as I know, I'm sorry and I'm afraid there is no built-in feature in Project for the web to create 3 different permission levels.

On one hand, I will keep this thread open. Welcome community members and MVPs who have similar experience to share insights and suggestions here.

On the other hand, I understand your concern and completely agree with you, this is indeed a good addition to the current features of Project for the web. Thank you for bringing thing to our attention.

I sincerely recommend sending your valuable feedback to Project Feedback Community. Our Product Team is in-charge of the site and they are constantly checking the comments and feedback from our customers. Many features have been developed and improved based on users' comment.

Appreciate your patience and understanding and thank you for your time and cooperation.

    Have a nice day!!

    Dear Tina,

Thank you for taking the time to answer this question, although this may not be the answer I was hoping for.

It would be indeed a great addition to the Project for the web functionalities.

I have also posted a message on Project Feedback Community as you suggested.

    Have a nice day.
