I have a word document with about 30 pages of text. and i am trying to convert it to powerpoint. Most are plain text. After converting it, i can edit it to make nice slides. I just don't want to repeatedly copy/paste. Is there a way to do this easily?

Using copilot? Sure, if it's available, but that's a MAJOR assumption, and one that's likely to be wrong.

It just released today for Office, and only to enterprise installs, and then only if the enterprise has decided to pay huge amounts of $$ for each of the minimum 300 users they're required to license.

    Let's be more realistic.

    Hi Jackey,

Thanks for posting in the community. We are happy to help you.

Based on my search, here are the methods that may help you.

    1. Use the feature "Export Word documents to PowerPoint presentations" in Word for Web.

You can upload the Word document to OneDrive or SharePoint, then open it in Word for the Web, click File> Export > Export to PowerPoint presentation. Also, please note that it still has some limitations, and it is available for some insiders, but not available for worldwide users.

    1. Use the feature "create a PowerPoint presentation from an outline".
    2. You can use AI to help you to create a presentation. Here is an article: Prepare your presentation with Microsoft 365 Copilot.

Also, we welcome community members to share ideas about the situation if one has related experiences.

    Sincerely,

    Jackey,

If you want to export text to PPT you can use the Word to Powerpoint option in Word online. I haven't had any experience with it as it is only available in English and not in Dutch.

If your text has headings, in other words text has been allocated an outline level then you can export that text to PPT. Here's my article on the subject, it was written for PPT 2013 but it still applies to later versions, it does in my Word 2019. You can allocate an outline level to any paragraph in Word if you go to the paragraph settings.
