Copy/Paste Multiple URL's as Links

Hello, I don't know if there is a way to accomplish this but I am in need of some assistance.

I used Microsoft Excel quite often with copying URL's from the browser into Excel,

1) I know that if I copy the url from the browser and I paste the link into the top bar to the right of the "Fx" it will automatically save the url as a link in that particular cell

2) however when I go to copy the url and paste it into the cell itself it doesn't keep the hyperlink unless I go to the top bar and press enter then it changes to a link

3) What I would like to do is that sometimes I copy and paste 10 + links into excel at one point and I would like to be able to paste those url's as links all at once instead of have to go to each cell one by one and pressing enter each time.

is there a way to make this work?

I have the same issue. And in the latest Office suite, there is actually NO HYPERLINK but INSERT LINK. I have a column full of distinct URLs pasted as text. I simply want to hyperlink them at one go.

Unfortunately your answer is no better than copying each link individually and pasting it in excel - you still have to enter the discrete hyperlink for each cell. I am looking for the same thing as the OP, but I have several hundred files that I want to put in an excel sheet as links. Is there a way to do that en masse?

    Hi,

I'm Sneha and I'd be happy to help you out with your question. Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

When you copy a URL and paste it into a cell in Excel, it will be pasted as plain text and won't automatically become a hyperlink. However, there is a way to quickly convert multiple URLs to links in Excel.

First, select the cells where you want to paste the URLs as links. Then, right-click on the selected cells and choose "Paste Special" from the menu. In the Paste Special dialog box, select "Unicode Text" and click OK. This will paste the URLs as plain text in the cells.

Next, select the cells again and right-click. This time, choose "Hyperlink" from the menu. In the "Insert Hyperlink" dialog box, paste the URL in the "Address" field and click OK. The URLs will now be converted to links in the selected cells.

Alternatively, you can use the "Insert Hyperlink" button from the "Insert" tab on the Excel ribbon to add links to the cells.

If you have any other questions or need assistance with anything, please don't hesitate to let me know. It will be my pleasure to Assist you.

    Best Regards, Sneha

I'm sorry to hear that the previous method did not work as expected. Here's an alternative method that you can try:

    1. Copy the URLs that you want to convert to links in Excel.
    2. In Excel, select the cell where you want to start the link list.
    3. Right-click and select "Paste" or press Ctrl+V to paste the URLs.
    4. Once the URLs are pasted into the cells, select all the cells where you want to create the hyperlinks.
    5. On the Excel ribbon, go to the "Insert" tab and click on the "Hyperlink" button.
    6. In the "Insert Hyperlink" dialog box, select "Place in This Document" from the left-hand menu, and then select "URL" from the right-hand menu.
    7. In the "Type the file or web page name" field, type or paste the URL that corresponds to the first cell in the selection.
    8. Click on "OK". Excel will automatically create hyperlinks for all the cells in the selection.

If you have any other questions or need assistance with anything, please don't hesitate to let me know. It will be my pleasure to Assist you.

    Best Regards, Sneha

Okay so I performed the following steps

    1. I pasted the links all into note pad so I won't lose them.
    2. I selected the correct amount of cells and then selected on "paste special" with "unicode text" and it did paste the url's however without the hyperlink
    3. I selected the 42 cells with the plain text URL's - I don't have an item that says "Hyperlink" just an item that says "link" when I right click
    4. but what happens it it pastes the same url for all 42 different links

so this method does not work correctly or i'm still doing something wrong
