Maybe just start with seven chevrons and then change the middle one to an oval?

How can I stop SmartArt shapes from resizing in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel when I add a new shape that already has a space and can be easily added?

I've now made the link publicly accessible: Rec 0007.mp4, as I think it would be helpful for you to see the issue(s) in action. The process is quite cumbersome and took up my entire day yesterday just to edit the shapes in the manner, colour, and shapes I wanted. My main objective is to add the word 'Break' for each meeting (in this video). However, as you'll see, even this minor addition throws all the shapes into disarray, and it takes hours to edit!! I have multiple other SmartArt shapes like this one. To be honest, I find it easier to create my shapes from the ground up for editing purposes. However, given the number of shapes I have, a more efficient method is essential.
Hello
We very much appreciate the helpful information provided by: Stefan Blom/ Suzanne S. Barnhill.
I'll state the issue once more. The others also change in size when you alter the size of one box. I guess it's intended to be a relative size adjustment (as explained in the help article), however scaling many boxes or hierarchies with more than three levels doesn't work with it. I suppose the algorithms used to automatically change relative size were not built to handle anything more complex than the simplest graphic.
So once more, the query is whether it is possible to stop shapes from automatically resizing. To stop Word or Powerpoint from automatically resizing boxes, in other words, and only adjust the size of a single box.
Powerpoint seems to make this issue worse,
Sincerely

Indeed, once you begin adding text, you'll see how much it shrinks, which is problematic when it needs to be printed and legible. A simple word like 'break' takes up disproportionate space, yet it needs to be smaller for readability. Try adjusting the size of 'break' or increasing the text size, and you'll notice how chaotic the entire shape layout becomes. This is where the real issues lie.
SmartArts are designed to resize the text as you add or remove content. Could you perhaps upload a couple of screen shots that illustrate what is not working as expected?
