Transfer Ownership of MS Forms

Hello,

We have some MS forms that needed to be transferred to another account as I would be OOO for several weeks.

However, the only 3 options I have is

  • Transfer the form to one of group, which power automate connector is not working as I cannot use a group
  • Ask our MS Admin to transfer but it requires to deactivate my account
  • The other user duplicate the form but the form link would change which affect other departments

Is there any way that I can transfer the form without changing the form link and deactivating my account ?

Thank you very much!

    Dear Ammyyy,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

Log into in to portal.office.com with the account that the Microsoft Form belongs to. Once logged in access Forms by clicking on the nine dots in the top left and clicking on 'Forms'.

This should open the interface for managing your 'Forms' in a new tab. Click on the form you would like to move to another account to open it.

Once the form has opened click on the three dots in the top right and then 'collaborate or duplicate'.

This will open a column with two options. Click on 'share as a template' and it will provide a link you can share to duplicate the form.

Provide the link to the person whose account you are moving the form to. Once copied into their browser they should see something like the screen below.

Click on 'duplicate it' and it will create a copy on their account. The form has now been duplicated on another account and can be managed from there instead.

    Hello,

When I use MS Power Automate, if I use my connector under my account(or a connector under a service account). I can only use the form that is under the MS account (not a group). If I move the form to a group, the form cannot be grabbed from API in power automate.

Our team already decided duplicate the template and have our stakeholders change the link after I research on all the proposed solutions. But I still thankful for your help and hopefully Microsoft can do an enhancement feature to be able to grab the form in a group not just the personal account(Ex, all our group members can sign in Sharepoint connector to use the Sharepoint list in Power Automate)

    Hello Sophia,

    Thanks for the prompt reply!

However, I have tried duplicate the form. However, the form link is changed and we have to coordinate with other teams(get them involved) as the form link is changed . The workflow is involved with other teams as well.

Is there a way that we can change the form owner WIHTOUT changing the form link?

    Thank you!

    Amy

    Dear Ammyyy,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

According to our investigation there are only 3 methods to transfer ownership. The methods are mentioned by you in upper I believe first option is the most possible solution (Transfer the form to one of group) and the second option also similar to the first one change the forms location to a another location. You mentioned “power automate connector is not working as I cannot use a group “may I know more information about this issue we might find a solution for he issue.

Your understanding and patience will be highly appreciated.

If there is any misunderstanding, please feel free to correct me.
