MS Projects linking in SharePoint

Hello,

I am trying to build a master project database by linking individual project schedules. I am also resource loading these individual project schedules via a common resource pool. Is it possible to connect all of these in SharePoint? I am not having good luck linking the resource pool to individual MSP files or linking those files under 1 master MSP document. Any guidance would be appreciated!

Thanks,

SH

    SH_2002,

Okay, that makes sense. I believe a personal One Drive is like a local server so the linking structure works fine but I doubt that success will transfer to the company One Drive.

On my personal OneDrive, yes, and I am hoping to get the same success on company OneDrive. Just curious to see if any others will respond with having had success with SharePoint. Thanks, John!

    SH_2002,

Unfortunately the simple answer is "no". Project's linking structure (master/subproject, resource pool/sharer files) is not supported on SharePoint, or One Drive in case you are thinking about that as an alternative approach.

I suggest you set up a shared server for the files. Even then, linked structures on Project are prone to corruption. What exactly are you trying to achieve?

    SH_2002,

I have heard that some users could set up a linked structure on One Drive so I'm glad you found it works for you. Is there anything else you need help with?

Thanks, John. I am able to link projects in One Drive.

I am trying to achieve a master project schedule by inserting subprojects into one file. These subprojects all share one resource pool. So, my master project file is the location for all projects and resources in one place so I can do forecasting and resource planning, and assess hiring needs.
