Publisher won't pull through one or two fonts, Century Gothic

Just two fonts won't pull through to publisher. They load into text boxes if I paste the font in but it doesn't come up as an option in the list.

Steps I have already taken:

  • Update Office
  • Reinstalled Publisher and Office 365, ran quick and online repair
  • Ran publisher on another user
  • Manually install/uninstall/reinstall the fonts
  • Updated Windows

At a loss here, ran through any fixes I found on google but still not pulling through. The next thing I would try is soft resetting the device.

    Hi John,

Thankyou for the prompt response, myself a few others have already gone down the install custom fonts route unfortunately. The fonts work in other Microsoft applications, such as Word and Excel etc...

I see Century Gothic is on the list of compatible fonts, so it must be something to do with Publisher itself. I have gone through all the settings and don't see anything that could help.

If you have any obscure fixes you know of that would be amazing!

    Cheers,

    Matt

    Hi Matthew,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

I understand that you’re having trouble with your fonts in Publisher. Based on the information you provided, it seems that you have already tried several troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue. Just a heads up that in regards to this kind of issue, our option is limited and we can only perform basic troubleshooting steps.

Here are some additional steps that you can try:

    • Check if the fonts are embedded in the publication: If the fonts are not embedded in the publication, they may not be available on other computers. To embed the fonts, click on File > Info > Manage Embedded Fonts. In the Fonts dialog box, select the Embed TrueType fonts when saving publication check box. To embed system fonts, clear the Do not embed common system fonts check box. If Publisher notifies you that you used fonts that cannot be embedded, click OK. Here's the support article: Embed fonts in a publication to ensure their availability - Microsoft Support
    • Check if the fonts are corrupted: If the fonts are corrupted, you may need to repair or reinstall them. To repair the fonts, right-click on the font file and select Install for all users. If the fonts are still not working, try uninstalling and reinstalling them. Find the font file that you downloaded, keeping in mind that it may be contained within a .zip file. It's probably located in your downloads folder.
    1. Double-click the font file to open it in the Font Previewer The Windows Font Previewer lets you view and install fonts on your Windows computer
    2. If you're satisfied that this is the font you want, click Install at the top left. Click Install to install the font
    3. Close the Font Previewer, and open your Office program. You should now see your new font included on the font list.
    4. Here's the support article for you to know more about the Fonts that can be installed with Office. Download and install custom fonts to use with Office - Microsoft Support
    • Check if the fonts are compatible with Publisher: Not all fonts are compatible with Publisher. If the fonts are not compatible, you may need to use a different font. You can find a list of compatible fonts on the Microsoft website.

If you want to perform a Soft reset on your device. Make sure to have a backup with the application and the data files that you have.

Please send us a reply if there are any confusions or clarifications to our description. I hope this helps!

    Sincerely,

    John Lloyd
