I had an older windows laptop and I used the pre-installed video editor. It prompted me to use clipchamp there, but I declined. Now, on my new laptop I don't have the option anymore. I've tried downloading photos legacy, but it tells me it can't run and I should update my photos app, but it's a brand new laptop with all the updates already. Is there a way to get the old video editor on my brand-new laptop?

Hello Julia D, thanks for coming into forums. I'm Myk, an Independent Advisor and I'll be more than happy to help you.

I've had used the old version of Video Editor, and it's indeed convenient, especially if you got used to using the Video Editor for years. With Windows 11 though, Clipchamp is part of the pre-installed app for editing videos. You may utilize the Legacy Photos app too, as it have video editing capability as well: 1.. Open Microsoft Store 2. Search Microsoft Photos Legacy 3. Install the app

For fast and simple editing, you may use Clipchamp: https://app.clipchamp.com/">https://app.clipchamp.com/ , and it is preinstalled on Windows 11.

To open Clipchamp, go to the search box on the taskbar, type Clipchamp, and select it from the results. Or you can select Start , then select All apps and scroll down to find Clipchamp in the list of apps.

A browser-based version can also be accessed by typing https://app.clipchamp.com/ in Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome.
