Powerpoint, "The picture can't be displayed".

Hello,

I am using PowerPoint version 16.78 on a Macbook Pro macOS 14.2.1. One of my PowerPoint presentations has all the tif images showing "The picture can't be displayed.". I have already checked the auto recovery folder and couldn't find any file in it. This file is really important to me. Is there a way to recover it?

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,

Chen

Did you edit this file while it was in DropBox? It's not a supported cloud location for editing with Office for Mac.

One of the most common causes is that the images were linked rather than embedded & either the file or the location of the images or both has changed. This is often due to the insertion being done on one computer but the file being sent to a different system.

    Is that possible?

    Dear ChenSun5,

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft community. We are delighted to offer our assistance.

If you upload this file to OneDrive and open it with the PowerPoint online version, could you view the pictures normally?

    Have a great day.

    Sincerely,
