    Hello Janet,

Thank you for posting here in Microsoft Community.

I have tried creating a test presentation and was able to change themes without losing any data. To change the theme on an existing PowerPoint presentation without losing data, follow these steps:

(Note: Make sure to create a backup first or save a copy of your current presentation prior to proceeding with the steps.)

    1. Open the PowerPoint presentation you want to change the theme for.
    2. Click on the "Design" tab in the ribbon at the top of the screen.
    3. Select the new theme you want to apply to your presentation from the "Themes" section.
    4. PowerPoint will ask you if you want to apply the new theme to all slides or just the current slide. Choose the option that suits your needs.
    5. The new theme will be applied to your presentation without affecting any of the data or content on your slides.

You can also use the "Designer" feature of PowerPoint if you currently have a Microsoft 365 subscription: Create professional slide layouts with Designer - Microsoft Support

Note that changing the theme may affect the formatting of some elements on your slides, such as text boxes and images. You may need to adjust these manually to ensure they look their best with the new theme.

    I hope this information. helps!

    Regards,

    Arquel C.
