Word display in hyperlinks; did I change the style or something else?

This is a very weird question, but I thought I would ask. I have done something in a Word document that when it is a hyperlink, it shows the actual link and not the words. I did something to the style of the hyperlink or something and I can’t figure out how to get it to go back. I’ve looked online with no luck. I’ve ever tried to copy & paste with no luck. Have you run into this problem before? Thanks.

    Hello CJ,

My name is Adebayo, thank you for getting in touch.

It sounds like you’ve accidentally toggled the display of field codes in your Word document, which is why you’re seeing the actual hyperlink code instead of the linked text. This can happen if you press Alt + F9, which is the shortcut to toggle field codes on and off.

To revert back to displaying the hyperlinks as normal text, simply press Alt + F9 again, and the hyperlinks should return to their standard underlined blue text format.

If pressing Alt + F9 doesn’t work, you can also try the following:

Go to File > Options > Advanced. Scroll down to the Show document content section. Uncheck the option "Show field codes instead of their values". This should resolve the issue and display your hyperlinks as normal text.

Please do let me know if further assistance is needed.

    Kind regards, Adebayo.
