Discontinuation of Custom Domain Email Creation in Outlook Family Plan Office 365

It is with deep regret that I compose this message today. The inability to create personalized email addresses within Office 365, as detailed in the announcement "Changes to personalized email addresses in Outlook.com", marks a significant setback. I am posting here to seek clarification on whether it is indeed impossible to create new Outlook accounts with custom domains on the Family plan, barring the option to upgrade to the business plan. While this might be a feasible route for some, the heightened cost and the necessity to pay for each family member individually to maintain a personalized domain renders it prohibitively expensive for family use.

I am contemplating a shift to alternative services that offer this feature, such as Apple or Google Domains with their forwarding system (which, although not ideal, is at least functional).

It is disheartening to witness Apple introducing such desirable features while Microsoft, a company I have been loyal to for years, decides to withdraw them.

If there truly is no workaround, consider this post not just a query, but also a form of protest, in the hope that a viable solution will eventually emerge.

If a move away from Microsoft to Apple is an option for you, I reckommend you do it! MS has become too big to fail and User Experience has seemingly become irrelevant for development.

Yes, that's one of the reasons I wrote this post. If a lot of people are asking the same question, it would be a great indication to Microsoft of the need to bring this feature back.

Sorry you're so unhappy with what I've said. I can only tell you what I know to be true. There may be other things you can do beyond how I deal with it, but someone else will have to respond. I've told you what I know.

Microsoft doesn't read this. It's not a feedback venue.

While you may not believe what I said solved your problem (and I'll agree it didn't), no one can solve your problem. It's a feature that's now gone. It's a fact of life to accept. Sending feedback to Microsoft telling them of your dissatisfaction is about all you can do, but I'd be surprised if it will help. Keep in mind that these are user-to-user forums. Most of us have no access to Microsoft's servers nor do we have any influence over Microsoft's policies or decisions.
