Remove lines from around pictures in Word

Have a document that consists of two pictures imported into a Word document. The pictures have lines bordering them. How do I remove the border lines?

    If the borders are NOT part of the original pictures that you imported:

    • Click on a picture, which should make the Picture Format ribbon appear.
    • In that ribbon, click the Picture Border button.
    • Click the No Outline item in the menu.
    • Repeat for the other picture.

    However, if the borders were part of the pictures in the original source, then the Picture Border menu won't remove them. Instead, use one of these methods:

    • Click the Crop button (also on the Picture Format ribbon) and drag the corner markers slightly toward the center of the picture to eliminate the lines at the edges.
    • Go back to the original source of the pictures, copy them into a graphics program such as Windows Paint, and erase or crop off the lines. Save the picture without the lines, and import them into the Word document.
