Forms compatibility with Canvas

I teach online University classes. I generally do lectures as a Powerpoint, with a voice over using Zoom and upload the zoom video link to the canvas assignment.

I just discovered Forms/Quizzes and would like to include mini quizzes in certain lectures. I have successfully added a quiz to a powerpoint.

Questions:

  1. If I create a lecture with a zoom voice over and a quiz or multiple mini quizzes and upload the link to Canvas, will a quiz work? We used to have VidGrid which was wonderful, but now have YuJa which I don't really like.
  2. If I don't do a voice over, will uploading the PowerPoint into Canvas allow the quiz to work?
  3. Let's say I am successful. Can a student bypass or ignore the quiz? It will be a graded quiz. In VidGrid, you could set it to not allow moving forward until the question had been answered. I don't see that option, but I may have missed it.

I have a Mac mini M1 computer if that makes any difference.

Thanks for your assistance.

    Dear Lynda,

The direct integration of a Microsoft Forms quiz within a PowerPoint slide may not function as intended once the presentation is loaded into Canvas. Interactive elements from PowerPoint often require the PowerPoint application to run properly, which might not be the case when viewing through Canvas's interface.

    Best Practice:

Create your Microsoft Forms quiz and then use the link or embed code provided by Forms to add the quiz directly into Canvas. This ensures that students can access and complete the quiz within the Canvas environment, and you can track their responses through Microsoft Forms.

    Sincerely,

This seems to be the week of being completely misunderstood.

I want to know if the Quiz option in FORMS when used with a Pointpoint will work in Canvas.

That is a functionality that Microsoft should be able to answer.

I have no idea what an 'existing class notebook' is nor did I mention that at all.

    Dear Lynda,

Good day! Thank you for posting your query in our community.

Based on your description, you want to link an existing class notebook to Canvas.

However, because this problem is related to Canvas, and we have no chance to test this third-party tool on our side, so my suggestion is to contact dedicated Canvas support(you can search Canvas Support in the Bing to find the support). The members there are good at this aspect. You will get a more detailed and professional answer to your query there.

Your understanding will be highly appreciated.

    Sincerely,
