Hello,

I am looking for assistance on how to change my excel monthly calendar template. I had no problems in September 2023 creating the calendars with the correct starting date and printing a monthly calendar for each employee to the end of the year. Now I need to create my January calendar starting with December 26th on a Tuesday ending January 25th on a Thursday. Continue each month the same 26th January to February 25th etc.

The first step to get suggestions for your existing template is to share the template. ;-)

    Hello Cecelia,

I'm Ibhadighi and I'd happily help you with your question. In this forum, we are Microsoft consumers just like yourself.

To create a custom Excel monthly calendar template with each month starting on the 26th and ending on the 25th of the following month, you can follow these simple steps:

    1. Start a new Excel workbook.
    2. Set Up Dates: In the first column, enter the start date (e.g., 26th December 2023 for the January calendar). Continue entering dates in sequence down the column until you reach the 25th of the next month (e.g., 25th January 2024).
    3. Across the top row, create columns for each day of the week (Sunday, Monday, etc.).
    4. Match the dates with the corresponding days of the week. For example, if December 26, 2023, is a Tuesday, place it under the 'Tuesday' column.
    5. Use Excel’s drag feature to automatically fill the dates for each month. The dates will adjust automatically.
    6. Adjust the cell sizes, colors, and borders to make it look like a calendar. You might want to merge cells for the days of the week headers.
    7. You can add rows below each week for notes, regular hours, overtime hours, and total hours, as needed.
    8. Once your January calendar is set, save this as a template. You can then use this template for subsequent months by simply changing the starting date.

Please remember that for each month you'll need to adjust the dates slightly, as the number of days in each month varies. This manual setup allows for flexibility and customization according to your specific needs.

    I hope this helps,

    Best Regards, Ibhadighi
