    Click > View > Check off "Navigation Pan > "Pages" > Select any pages you want to delete and press the delete key.

    That is not how it works.

    Please read both links I provided earlier.

    You can delete logical sections in the Headings part of the Navigation Pane, but not pages.

    The Pages in the Navigation Pane does not allow moving or deleting. It is merely a quick guide to give an idea of page content.

    Look at this page: Deleting “Blank” Pages by Suzanne Barnhill, MVP

    It describes the Word features that can cause blank pages and fixes for it.

    While it is written for Word for Windows users, the Mac version has similar controls and the document structures are identical.
