    Hello! David Fairlamb1

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community

As per checking the shared information that you're experiencing issues with applying slide designs in PowerPoint. Allow me to ask:

    • May I know how do you access your PowerPoint? is it through PowerPoint app? or in PowerPoint for the web?
    • May I know if this is happening to all of the files? or just specific file?
    • May I know what error message are you getting?
    • Can I know what version and edition of Office installed in your computer?
      • You can open any Office apps
      • Go to File > Accounts - on the right side you can see Product Information
    • You can send me a screenshot of the issue.
      • Please hash/censored the following by using Paint, or any editing program: Full name (First name is fine), Email address, contact number, credit number, Product key, and Full Address in the Community.

Here are some troubleshooting steps that you can try:

    1. Check if there are any updates available for PowerPoint. To do this, open PowerPoint, click on "File" > "Account" > "Update Options" > "Update Now".
    2. Try repairing your Office installation. To do this, go to "Start menu > Settings > Apps > select "Microsoft Office" > click "Change" > select "Repair" > Quick Repair and follow the prompts.
    3. If repairing the installation doesn't work, try uninstalling and reinstalling Office.
    4. If the issue persists, try creating a new PowerPoint presentation and see if you can apply slide designs to it. If you can, the issue may be with the original presentation.

If none of these steps work, please let me know and we can explore other options.

    Thank you,

    Vince
