The Account Pictures folder is empty (I didn't delete anything, it was empty when I opened it) and yet the profile picture is still being shown. I can find where to change the profile picture, but not delete it. How do I delete it so only my initials are shown?

    Thank you for reaching out,

    You can follow the steps below to delete your pictures from your Microsofts account;

    From Microsoft account:

    1. sign into account.microsoft.com
    2. click on your info on the top option menu
    3. click on change photo
    4. you will see option to delete photo at the bottom.

    From windows 11:

Windows is designed to let you switch between your three most recent pictures on the Your info page. If you really need to delete one of your account pictures:

    1. Open File Explorer from the taskbar. If you don’t see File Explorer on the taskbar, select Start and type File Explorer.

    Go to C:\Users\yourname\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\AccountPictures.

Replace yourname with your account name.

    1. If you’re unable to find the AppData folder in File Explorer , it might be hidden. Select View > Show > Hidden items to show all items in a folder.
    2. Delete the account picture you no longer want to use.

    From Teams:

    1. launch the Microsoft Teams desktop app, or sign into teams.live.com
    2. In Microsoft Teams, select the picture icon in the top right corner.
    3. In the window that opens, select the picture icon (Change profile photo) to the left of your name.
    4. Under "Change your profile picture", select Remove picture.
    5. Select Save and then Close.

    Regards.

    Jackson.

    Hello,

I had the same issue and spent hours searching. Now opened teams (In my case) and removed photo. All photos are removed. Cant stop asking why and why it is not written anywhere after hours search...

There is no option to delete or remove the photo, so this is inaccurate advice.

This did NOT work. There is absolutely no option to remove/delete your outlook photo once you put a photo in. You are simply stuck with the photo you choose to upload. BUT what I have found out through other threads - you can delete the photo in Microsoft Teams and hopefully it'll update through your apps. I deleted my photo in teams and thankfully it went back to my initials. It's not the original outlook initials as before but hey, better than nothing. I wish this would be updated so we can just remove the photo entirely.
