    Hi William,

Thanks for writing us here in Microsoft Community.

I’m sorry to hear that you’re still experiencing issues with PowerPoint Designer. If the options are grayed out, it could be due to several reasons such as a lack of internet connection, multiple slides being selected, or your PowerPoint version not being activated.

Here are some additional steps you can try:

    1. Check your internet connection: Ensure that you have a stable internet connection. PowerPoint Designer requires an internet connection to work.
    2. Check if a single slide is selected: Ensure that only one slide is selected in the slide thumbnail pane in Normal view. If multiple slides are selected, the Designer button will be grayed out.
    3. Check if your PowerPoint version is activated: Ensure that your PowerPoint version is activated. If it’s not activated, you might not be able to use certain features, including PowerPoint Designer.
    4. Try resetting PowerPoint to its default settings. Go to File > Options > Advanced, and click on the "Reset" button under the "General" section. This will reset all PowerPoint settings to their default values.
    5. Repair your Office installation: If the issue could be caused by minor corruption with Office installation, try repairing your Office installation.
      • Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features, select Microsoft 365, and click on Change. Then select Repair and follow the on-screen instructions.
    6. Reinstall Office. If issue still persists, consider reinstalling your Office applications. If you are using Outlook, make sure to back up your contacts, calendars, and emails first before performing a reinstall.
      • We recommend you follow the step provided in this article for your guide in uninstalling your Office.
      • To install Office again, refer to this Microsoft Support article.

If you’re still having trouble, you can contact Microsoft Support for further assistance.

    Sincerely,

    Froilance T

    Hi William,

Thanks for writing us back. I understand the first 5 basic troubleshooting steps doesn't seem to address your concern, and I appreciate you for confirming that. At this point, it appears like the issue you're having is way more complex than expected. There are some factors we could consider with this type of concern.

Based on experience, when a certain feature doesn't work yet working on other devices, it's possible that the issue could be related to the Office installation already on that device. Allow me to ask additional information from you to better isolate the issue.

    1. Have you tried to check if in case you have other device to confirm if design tab is functional there?
    2. Have you also tried to uninstall and reinstall your Office already which is suggested on the Step 6?
    • This part of the troubleshooting is vital to ensure there is no corruption with your Office that could have caused the issue.
    1. Would it be possible you share a screenshot or a video of the issue?

4.Also, can you check what's the version and build of your Office?

    • Open PowerPoint > File > Account > About PowerPoint

We would be more than happy to assist you further; however, we just need to collect additional information from you so we can further investigate the issue and discover a resolution.

We can't wait for your next response.

    Sincerely,

    Froilance T
