onedrive app on android - camera upload keeps switching off

I have the onedrive app on my samsung galaxy android phone.

I keep setting the Camera upload setting to ON in my Onedrive app settings, but it keeps switching off. Any ideas?

It does work fine, for a while, account is signed in etc. Just after a while (a few days maybe?) I realise it's stopped uploaded, check the onedrive app settings and camera upload is switched off again.

Any ideas?

Many thanks

I get this, and other OneDrive issues between Android and Windows 11 on a regular basis.
I've tried all the fixes recommended, including re-installing, turning things on and off and renaming the Camera Roll folder.
None of them work for long, but I've finally fixed it - moved to Google Drive.
Its a pity - the basics of OneDrive are pretty good but, like my vintage car, sometimes it just won't start.

We have the same issue and we already tried clear cache \ clear data plus uninstalled and reinstalled. I even tried a second device and it does the same thing. The device will receive a notification from OneDrive multiple times per day stating “New photo location Would you like to add the folder to camera backup?” It's the same app \ folder that we have to keep enabling. Any idea what could be causing this?

    Hi there SallyPilkington,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community

I'm Bobadoye and I'd be happy to help you out with your question.

Please try clearing the cache and data for the OneDrive app. To do this, go to your phone's Settings > Apps > OneDrive > Storage > Clear cache and Clear data. After clearing the cache and data, sign back in to the OneDrive app and try turning on the Camera Upload setting again.

If after trying all these steps and you still experience this Issue, please try to uninstall and reinstall OneDrive on your android

I hope this information helps. If you have any questions, Please let me know and I'll be glad to assist you further

    Best Regards,

    Bobadoye
